I'VE GOT FOUR WORDS FOR YOU: MALABON NAVOTAS HARD CORE

Besides Dolor's kakanin, the iconic pansit luglug, jazz legend Angel Peña and poet Ophelia Dimalanta. The twin cities of Malabon and Navotas is a hotbed of talented artist and musicians that played out a pivotal role in the emergence of one of the most important form of rebel music as well as its subculture in the 80's non other than punk rock. These cities had produced some of the infamous bands this side of Asia the likes of Third World Chaos, Dead Ends, Private Stock, and G.I. and the Idiots to name a few that had swept underground Manila during those years giving birth to the Malabon-Navotas Hardcore scene.

In case you readers do not know, it is a wide known fact that
Malabon and Navotas were two of the several important regional centers fostering the spread of hardcore punk in the Philippines. Their contribution to this subversive type of music is hard to deny it is still significant today as it was back then. Suffice to say that the Malabon-Navotas Hardcore scene in one way or another had influenced countless new school hardcore bands of today.

On December 17, Saturday come and witness the rebirth of this mighty hardcore scene in the northern coastal town of Manila. Featuring the twin city luminaries Throw, The GoSignals, Against Man and Nekbu. Joining them are Hard K, Wolfshaman, Class Bunkers and Red Corpse.
This event will be held at The Spot in Rosas Arcade, Concepcion, Malabon City and is lovingly produced by my good friends who stayed true to the game hardest to the core since day one. Long live Tambobong and Nabutas! Don't forget your roots, hardcore for life!

T.S.A. UP THE ANTE

Singapore based all Filipino hardcore band T.S.A. is always one step ahead of the game this time they had outdone themselves again. The last time they wreaked havoc in Denmark waving the Philippine flag proudly slaughtering the Danes in its path. And this time around the Yanks took notice.

New York street punk band The Casualties had chosen T.S.A. as support act for their Singapore leg of their Asian tour. From the multitude of local hardcore acts scattered all around Lion City, T.S.A. had stood out from the rest and that goes to show that they are nonpareil. The best hardcore band there is in Singapore turned out to be Filipinos. This band packed a heavy punch much like Pacquiao beat up those Mexicans to a bloody pulp.

These mighty Bulakenyos will go on head to head with The Casualties in conjunction with their 8th studio album - We All We Have under SideOneDummy Records. The event will be held on the 17th of November at White Studio Fort Canning Park, Singapore.

If you happen to be in Singapore on that said date do drop by and experience their very own take on what true hardcore should be. See and hear T.S.A.'s brand of hardcore, a no holds barred - take no prisoner approach - brutally short, angry and furiously fast, leaving you a casualty once their music hits you. This is the way hardcore should sound like.

This event is brought to you by Bone Crusher Productions.

ANOTHER ONE NIGHT STAND

These are some of the bands that help shaped Philippine punk rock. This is the REAL Brave New World! THE JERKS! BETRAYED! THE GO SIGNALS! what more can you ask for? and best of all its free!

CRAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

Its been awhile since i updated this blog my apologies for the delay last year a few months ago i was hounded with so much trouble both personal and public, one included was that Bisikleta Productions lost its home at Sazi's Bar due to some issues you may all well knew by now. However the year end salvo KAPOW! turned out quite good even though things did not go well exactly as planned but heck it was fun.

Its 2011 another year has passed and now its time to start a new beginning...again! But up to now i am still feeling quite unsure about what the future might hold and i kept telling to myself whether or not to throw in the towel or to roll with the punches. Should i stay? or should i go doing this? ....Well maybe i should go...go on and continue what has been started and do it better. Its time to ride on the bike once more and see what lies ahead.

This year we have some things lined up for you starting this January 15 as we celebrate our 5th year anniversary as well as founder Luis "Weslu" Guiang's 4th year death anniversary at Skarlet's new bar called Hades Bar located the 2nd floor of ANDROSIA along Timog, Quezon City near Tomas Morato Rotonda.

Then coming February Singpore's finest hardcore heroes will be here. My good friend Ojie was recently here last December and we met then told me that T.S.A. will be coming home this Chinese New Year!

And on April Keb Darge will be coming to the Philippines along with Swampcat Caz to give us another dose of that fine sweet real rhythm and blues, jump blues and rockabilly. Stay tuned for other future projects inline we are also in the midst of doing another Bicol tour..so keep your fingers crossed and thanks for the bands and the people for your unwavering support and love. CRAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!
